Now it seems true that no sex is really better than bad sex

According to a report, there is almost 50% increase in HIV infection rates in Australia during the past eight years.

The figures show that more than 27,000 people in Australia are infected with HIV and there are almost 10,000 new cases of Aids.

The researchers believe that this increase is a result of Australia’s mining boom as wealthy miners and businessmen spend holidays overseas and get infected through unprotected sex.

Though HIV cases are relatively low in Australia (if compared to international standards), the researchers are seeing a disturbing upward trend.

Don Baxter, who is director of the Australian Federation of Aids Organization, says that the growing numbers of new positive HIV cases are occurring not only in homosexual men but also in heterosexuals.

A sweeping report on tobacco suggests that depiction of smoking in movies urges teenagers to start smoking.

According to this report from the National Cancer Institute, more than $13 billion were spent on smoking-related advertising and promotion during 2005. The spending helped to boost overall tobacco use and it was absolutely contrary to tobacco industry claims of building brand loyalty.
