The results of a new study reveal that a large number of kids and teens in the US are taking vitamins and other supplements that they don’t require, contrarily, many poor kids who need such supplements are not getting them.

According to some experts when someone takes different kinds of diets, one doesn’t need these vitamin or mineral supplements.

The study, which has been published in the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, also says that many poor children who need such supplements are not getting them. Most of such kids belong to low-income families, have poor nutrition and are not physically active.

These vitamin supplements are not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics to the most of kids over one year of age. However, kids, those suffer from some chronic disease and have other eating disorders or problems, are given such supplements.
