The main purpose of such an exercise routine is to make the front muscles of your thigh strong enough to handle certain pressure points and avoid joint pain on the knees; these will help in pulling your knee caps completely straight out.

So what you do is lie down straight on your bed and then do some leg raises, make sure that your legs are completely straight and your knees do not bend. Repeat this exercise quite a few times and you can be sure that your quadriceps is strengthened enough.

This is also a great exercise if you have injured your knee joint for some reason and this is a common phenomenon with girls who play a lot of sports, the inflammation that has occurred on your knee cap will instantly decrease and you will feel fitter.
