Recently, different circles have been criticizing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding its poor performance to make food supply in the U.S. safe. FDA responds to this criticism in a report that details its efforts to make food supplies safe and protect consumers.

Dr. David Acheson, who is assistant commissioner for food protection at the agency, says in this connection: “The agency’s proposal to develop better relationships with different local health departments and state regarding protecting food supply was one of the most important tasks that the agency worked for.”

“And the second big success is to make the strategic change regarding imports and this act can be called FDA’s globalization, and due to this we are shifting our intentions to inspect the foods items at the time of entry. Similarly, FDA is focused to develop such systems as may help to provide better understanding of what’s happening in foreign manufacturing.”
