Vitamin B Complex

A combination of eight water-soluble vitamins which play vital roles in cell metabolism is called B vitamins. Vitamins B were taken as a single vitamin in the past. Childhood abuse may alter genes, study says

According to Canadian researchers,childhood abuse can become the cause of lifelong damage by altering the genes, as they have found by examining the brains of suicide victims.

The researchers said that there were clear changes in brains of those children who became the victim of abuse in their childhood and committed suicide later on.

This can be very helpful to find out why childhood abuse becomes the cause of depression and other mental diseases.

The study may also prove helpful to find new treatments for people who have abusive childhood and its related issues.

In their study, researchers from McGill University, Canada examined the brains of those 36 people who died suddenly, 12 out of them were suicide cases that were become the victim of abuse, 12 suicide victims didn’t have apparent abuse history and 12 died suddenly in accidents.

Indian Water Streams Found Containing High Levels of Drugs

In a recent study it has been found that Indian water streams contain high levels of antibiotics to treat almost 90,000 people in one stream. The water samples were taken from Patancheru treated water. This waste water is the drain of about 90 drug manufacturing companies.

These tests and researches have been lead by Joakim Larsson, an environmental scientist at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and his team at Patancheru Enviro Tech Ltd. Plant. The shocking result showed that the water is abundant in Ciprofloxacin, a renowned antibiotic used for various disease treatments.

The so called treated water contained 21 antibiotics traces in it. These 21 medicines are used in general to treat ailments like ulcer, gonorrhea, chronic liver disease, hypertension, heart ailments, depression, and other such diseases. The water is undoubtedly harmful for health, which poor villagers are forced to drink; “We don’t have any other source, so we’re drinking it.” Klaus Kuemmerer, a chemist at the University of Freiburg Medical Center in Germany, an expert on drug resistance said, “If you take a bath there, then you have all the antibiotics you need for treatment,” “If you just swallow a few gasps of water, you’re treated for everything. The question is for how long?”

  2. Don’t stay in the dark, let the light come. Sunlight can do wonders to get rid of depression. So try to go out of the house or office during the day hours as much as possible. It’s better to launch outside with friends and family.
  3. Good friends are a real blessing and they can really help you out in such situations. So, whenever feel gloomy or sad, just call up a friend and schedule some time for a talk and some coffee.

Rare College Students Seek Treatment for Psychic Disorders

Half of the American college students have already suffered some type of psychic problem last year, but unfortunately few of them seek out treatment, a survey finds.

The survey includes more than 5,000 American students ages 19 to 25. Researchers found that, mental disorders were quite common in both college students and there non-college counters part. But in both groups, majority of the youngsters avoided to seek treatment. Only 25 percent of them were treated for their mental health problems, previous year.

“This survey emphasizes the significance of treatment and prevention interventions for college-aged individuals,” the researchers reported.

Early treatment of mental disorders such as depression and drug and alcohol dependence can ward off the problems to persist in adulthood, noted by the Dr. Carlos Blanco.

Children from low-income families tend to obesity, US researchers suggest

According to a new study, low-income families’ children often seem to pick up the stress of their anxious mothers and develop poor eating habits that increase their risk of becoming overweight.

The study author Craig Gundersen, who is an associate professor at the University of Illinois, says that: “Most of the low-income family children in the US have access to a sufficient amount of food and when these children experience maternal stress, they feel anxious and tend to go for the so-called ‘comfort foods’ that don’t prove the healthiest for them.”

The study finds that almost 17 percent of the American children between the ages of 2 and 19 are overweight, and another 16.5 percent are about to become obese.
