Researchers say that babies born from frozen embryos are healthier than those who develop from fresh embryos.

The results of three studies presented at a US fertility conference showed that there were fewer chances to be premature and underweight in frozen embryo babies.

Previous study suggests that only the strongest embryo survives the freezing process and it’s mainly because of this.

According to fertility experts, further studies are needed on the issue.

In this Finnish study, the researchers found that babies born from fresh embryos had 64% more chances to have low birth weight and 35% more chances to be premature than the babies born from frozen embryos.

In the second study (conducted by the researchers from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia) the researchers found that that the odds of low birth weight were 51% more in babies born from fresh embryos and they have 15% more chances to die around the time of birth.

According to a new research, bacterial infection may cause some cases of cot death.

The Archives of Disease in Childhood Study showed that the babies, who died of without any apparent reason, often had harmful bacteria in their blood samples. Some experts believe that these bacteria produce such toxins as boost the chemical storm in infants’ bodies that overwhelm them and cause a sudden death. In UK, there are more than 250 sudden baby’s deaths a year and most of them are without any obvious particular reason.

Scientists say that parents can do some things to cut the risk of cot death as they must not smoke during or after pregnancy and keeping babies to sleep on their backs. However, it is not known yet, why these things prove helpful.

The researchers from Queen’s University Belfast worked on 20 previous studies and suggested that contact with hospital bacteria instead of material bacteria in delivery may be the real culprit.
