Usually it doesn’t happen that an addicted person asks for help in finding a drug rehab facility and this gives enough reason for an alcohol and drug intervention. People who have some loved one addicted to drugs or alcohol, a successful drug or alcohol rehab program has a lot of importance for them.

If drug or alcohol intervention program is done in the proper way, it often proves very effective. The first and foremost step in this connection is to have the family who is willing to do this. Before starting actual intervention, a meeting, known as ‘family day’ is held. Family day is considered quite important because it helps to go an intervention go smoothly.

On that family day, the interventionist educates involved family members about tough love, addiction, drug rehab programs and getting the family strong enough to sit down and with love and intention make the addicted person accepting help. Though it looks quite difficult, almost 90 percent people will accept the help and chooses to go into a drug rehab.

A new study suggests that light drinking during pregnancy does not increase baby’s risk of behavioral problems.

Researchers from the University College London specified ‘light drinking’ as not more than two drinks a week throughout pregnancy.

The study, which included 12,500 three-year-olds, found that there was a lower risk of some problems in children of such drinkers.

However, the experts are divided over whether this study is encouraging or can calm women into a false sense of security.

According to Government advice, pregnant women should avoid drinking during pregnancy and if they do choose to drink, they shouldn’t consume more than one or two units of alcohol in a week or two.

There is a well-established relation between sustained heavy drinking in pregnancy and health problems for the babies.

In some severe cases drinking can cause miscarriage, stillbirth or permanent damage to the growing fetus.
