Asperger Syndrome- Behavior Disorder
There are several kinds of disorders caused because of brain malfunctioning or growth impairment. One of the types of behavior disorders is Asperger Syndrome.
Asperger Syndrome, generally known as AS, is a behavior syndrome that characterizes facing difficulties in social interaction, restricted behaviors, and stereotype actions and behaviors. It is a wide spectrum of psychological disorder called ‘autism spectrum disorder’ namely ASD, i.e. a group, of children psychological disorders, commonly classified as Pervasive Development Disorders PDDs.
As far as classification is concerned, AS is a subgroup of ASD.
This syndrome begins at early childhood. Repetitive actions too are its aspect. The main difference between Autism and Asperger Syndrome is that children confronting Asperger do not face that kind of difficulties in speech which are faced by Autism patients.
In Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the mental health professionals’ diagnostic handbook, it is mentioned that Asperger is a development disorder of childhood. It signifies no delay in utterance, but suggests one sided speech along with noticeable physical laziness.
The term Asperger was first described by an Austrian psychiatrist in 1944, Dr. Hans Asperger. Its proper diagnose is important, as it is generally confused with ASD. This is done by noticing various social activities, e.g., failure in making friends, non existing reciprocal behavior, lack of sharing mutual interests, and disassociated physical gestures, flat vocal tone, actions and postures referring to lack of common sense.
People with AS face difficulties in recognizing others’ feelings and reactions.
The causes of Asperger are various. Though, it is difficult to establish one factor as the cause. According to Dr. Hans, it is genetically transferred, as similar symptoms have been found in parents of the patients too. It is supposed to be the member of a gene which causes delay in functional mechanism of the body. This is also said that different patients will have different symptoms depending on the control of the genes.
It also affects the brain functions. In a few research studies, it has also been established that Asperger syndrome is caused due to medications given during pregnancy. Obviously, not all the medications cause Asperger, but the medicines that cause birth defects, are held responsible for this behavior syndrome.
It is also said that these defects are also caused due to birth time complications. For example, if the baby does not get enough oxygen. This oxygen deprivation causes damage to brain cells.
Environmental factors are included in the reasons causing to bring upon Asperger.
Asperger Syndrome is vivid and apparent in children, but detected in early adult hood.

I totally agree with the part that says ‘medication that a parent could be on’ as the areas of the brain that are affected by aspergers are the frontal courtexes where there is a dopamine deficiancy, maybe while the mother was pregnant she was on an antiphycotic (dopamine antogonistic drugs) thus creating a dopamine deficiancy in the fetuses brain.
