Families of victims are going to file case against the medicine
WASHINGTON –Families, claiming that a mercury-based chemical in vaccines can be the cause of autism, are going to challenge that usual medicine as they have taken their case in a federal court.
These families want restitution and financial compensation from the government fund that has been established to help people who are injured by vaccines or other injections.
As for a test, cases of two 10 year old boys from Portland ,Ore will be served to find whether these children and their families must be redressed or not. The boys’ lawyer will try to prove that the boys were leading a healthy and happy life and growing normally before being exposed to vaccines with thimerosal. After the use of that vaccine they began to show the symptoms of autism.
During the recent years Thimerosal has been excluded from other normal childhood vaccines and it could only be used as flu shot. However, in 2004, a committee accompanied with the Institute of Medicine showed that there was not any evident proof that vaccines with thimerosal caused autism.
Almost 4900 complaints have been filed in the U.S Court of Claims which claimed those vaccines as a cause of autism and other neurological disturbances in their children. Three different theories will be presented by the lawyers of these families and these theories will show how these vaccines caused autism.
The case that has begun today centers on the second of those theories that shows vaccines with thimerosal is the only cause of autism. These lawyers will show that these vaccines with thimerosal accumulate a kind of mercury in the brain that stimulates some brain cells which remain activate continually in an attempt to get rid of the disturbance.
According to Mike Williams, a legal attorney, in some children there is enough of it that starts continuous neuroinflammatory example that can cause regressive autism.
However, many members of the medical community are not certain about families’ claim. According to the members these claims about related dangers could stop the use of these vaccines that prove helpful to prevent illness.
