Nationwide Shutdown Helped Curtail the Epidemic, Mexican President says

The Mexican Government is now mulling over to reopen schools and businesses or keep that nationwide shutdown for some more time. Mexican President Felipe Calderon says that the shutdown proved quite effective to contain the spread of the disease in Mexico.

Though the shutdown was quite helpful to curtail the spread of the outbreak, yet it was quite damaging for the economy of the country. Now the government is doing necessary preparation to offer safety recommendations to different businesses and educational institutes of the country.

In an interview with Mexico TV broadcast, the President said: “We have taken the correct measures to contain the spread of the disease and have succeeded in it to some extent.”

According to Jose Angel, Mexican Health Secretary, “almost 22 people became the victim of death because of the disease and it was on 29th April when last death was reported.”
