Ovarian cancer an overview

Almost all types of cancer grow at the cellular level. It’s a natural process that body form new cells through cell multiplication when the old cells die. These new cell replace the old dead cells and keep the body in proper working condition. If some how, the cells start to replicate without the need of the body and unable to replace the old cells, a mass of tissues called “tumor” would be produced.

Prevention is better than cure

Most types of skin cancer can be prevented if the risk factors and causes of skin cancer are taken seriously. However, there are some prevention tips to get maximum protection against developing skin cancer.

Avoid Long and Direct Sun Exposure

Exposure to the high intensity Ultraviolet rays of the sun because these are the key trigger of causing skin damages which lead towards skin cancer. These rays are on their maximum when the sun is on the peak especially from 10 am to 4 pm. It is a misconception that only long term exposure is harmful for the skin, short and non-regular contact with the intense sunlight may also increase the risk of skin cancer.

Hide the Sun Exposed Areas with Sunscreen

It is recommended that whenever go outside, apply sunscreens on the exposed parts of your body. Though sunscreens do not stop all the harmful UV radiation, they are a key factor of prevention from skin cancer. A broad-spectrum sunscreen, with sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15, and having ingredients which have a better blocking capacity for UV rays, is highly recommended round the year. Sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before going outside and reapplied after every two hours. After swimming and exercising, it should be used again. The usage of sunscreens must be taught to the children from childhood so that they can be prevented from sunburns or skin damages that can be resulted in skin cancer in the later stages of life.

Scientists may soon be able to find some new effective ways to fight flu by targeting a wide range of flu strains with new medications and vaccine that needs to be changed every year.

According to Dr. Wayne A. Marcaso, “We have found some new antibodies in human body that can inactivate influenza, not only bird flu, but also many other viruses that can affect people in cold.”

“These new found antibodies can identify some new parts of the influenza virus and help inactivating them with new mechanism,” Marasco adds.

He said that antibodies could be used as medications and many medicines are received from antibodies that are commonly used in treating various cancers like lymphoma, colon and breast.

Menopause

The term “menopause” is referred, as a complete stoppage of the menstrual cycle for more than one year.

It is also known as the end of fertility period of a woman which occurs at substantial length of time before the death.

In adult women, who have their uterus but are not conceiving or lactating, menopause can be identified with complete absence of menstruation for at least one year.

Conversely, women those have undergone uterus removal, postmenopause is identified with the high level of follicle stimulating hormone in their blood.

Onset of menopause

Menopause usually occurs roughly in the middle age and presents the vanishing fertility period of the woman’s life. However, it is not so easy to associate menopause with the permanent inhibition of the menstruation because the uterus changes are secondary factor, key factor is the ovarian changes.
