LonelinessIn everyday language, coldness and loneliness are often associated with each other, but a team of researchers from the University of Toronto find that social isolation or loneliness can make people feel cold.

The researchers noted that socially isolated people felt the room colder than those who liked social mingling. They also found that people who felt left out opted for hot soup instead of an apple or soft drink.

According to a UK psychologist, the findings will prove helpful for the people who feel isolated especially during winter months.  In the study, the researchers divided 65 participants into two groups.

The researchers asked from one group to recall a personal experience in which they felt isolated or lonely. While the other group was asked to recall an experience in which they got social mingling.

Afterward, the researchers asked every participant to estimate the room’s temperature. Those who had isolated experience gave lower estimates of the temperature.

Most of the anti-aging products are quite expensive and somewhat beyond the reach of common people. Secondly, none can tell whether these products would work or not. Anti-aging tips often prove the best way to aging at bay, but the problem with these tips is that they work if you use them consistently and with patience. The following five tips can also prove very effective (you may notice a huge difference in short span) if you use them on a daily basis.

Tip No.1

If the signs of aging have begun to appear, you need lots of anti-oxidants to reverse these signs. Unsweetened cranberry juice is full of anti-oxidants nutrients like Vitamin C, quercetin and flavonoids. All these nutrients have high anti-oxidants activity and help to mop up free radicals that become the cause of cell damage and can also lead to the development of cancer. Cranberry juice can help you to keep such bad things away if you consume it daily.

The number of women, who are going for breast cancer gene test, is higher than ever, while leaving parents in tough scenario, either they go for their kid’s test or not.

Last year, 100,000 breast cancer gene mutation tests were done, which is twofold than the number of 2005. The trend can grow even more because of expanding insurance coverage and a new law banning genetic discrimination.

Medical expert recommend such testing after the age of 25, as a very little can be done to prevent or cure for breast or ovarian cancer until then, so the results would only create unwanted worry.

However, new studies and interviews by The Associated Press show that many people who have BRCA gene mutations and even more of their offspring, disagree.

Now it seems true that no sex is really better than bad sex

According to a report, there is almost 50% increase in HIV infection rates in Australia during the past eight years.

The figures show that more than 27,000 people in Australia are infected with HIV and there are almost 10,000 new cases of Aids.

The researchers believe that this increase is a result of Australia’s mining boom as wealthy miners and businessmen spend holidays overseas and get infected through unprotected sex.

Though HIV cases are relatively low in Australia (if compared to international standards), the researchers are seeing a disturbing upward trend.

Don Baxter, who is director of the Australian Federation of Aids Organization, says that the growing numbers of new positive HIV cases are occurring not only in homosexual men but also in heterosexuals.
